harvest moon --
on the tatami mats

tinkles of wind chimes

moonlit window

a nest box built
in the hospital room
swallows never appear

moon shifts--
the last leaf drops

without a sound

night stars
every road sign

points the way home

river fog somewhere the calls of distant birds

misty glade echoes the silence of trees 

rainbow over the horizon the journey continues

scented breeze --
against the wood fence
nodding ginger lilies 

tendrils of smoke
from a fading campfire --
first gleam of dawn

fishing net cast into the sky catching sunset

twilight --
out of the mist
temple bells 

wind blown leaves
the shape of absence
you leave behind

silver moonlights the waterfall of her hair 

November sky
when every falling leaf
is a wish granted

divorcing --
the sharpness
of broken plates

girls' laughter on the school bus soda bubbles

leafless trees
the cries of crows fade
into dusk

book pages flipped by the wind daydreaming

the letter
from an old friend

for how long
has this pine been standing here?

dog's paws—when happiness is a pile of leavess

it began with
the tinkle of wind chimes
falling leaves

swirling leaves
the colour
of autumn wind

brisk breeze--
first time this year
crickets chirping

fading moon
the street light goes out
one by one

dozing cat
the summer heat
lingers

once again
I ask myself the same question
distant moon

wind moves branches
a glimpse of
hazy moon

moonlight ripples
the soft whisper
of willow trees

we talk about
our dark sides

sudden rain
the cat and i
share the porch

boiling tea
the clouds of mist
in your eyes

fresh air  --
the curve of flapping sheets
on a clothesline

tinkling wind chimes  
the coldness
of  moonlight

waiting...
I took another sip
of cold coffee

following
the calls of nameless birds --
a path untrod

boots at the door
the smell of fresh earth
after rain

blooming azaleas --
chorus of chirping birds
even in the rain

crumbled wall --

against the ancient tree

new moon

departing clouds --
against the rotten fence
wild flowers in bloom

sigh of the breeze -- still the silence of bare trees

shimmering sunlight --
released from the new leaf
last night's rain

embraced by winds –
hidden behind tree branches
cold moon

sunlight
through frost covered twigs
a cat stretches

the wind’s message --
bursts of cherry blossom
one by one

late night thoughts
in a world of rain
winter deepens

brewing tea --
the glint of winter sun
on grandma's spoon
